Dean and Mildred Lougheed opened their first flooring shop in 1958 in Duntroon, Ontario, in the town’s old blacksmith building. Committed to quality and community, they built a loyal customer base offering trusted carpet and furniture care. As demand grew, the business expanded into full-service flooring sales and installation.
After a 1973 fire destroyed the original shop, Dean rebuilt with a renewed vision for excellence. Michael Lougheed joined in 1979, expanding offerings and operations. In 1996, the business partnered with Carpet One Floor & Home, gaining access to exclusive brands, industry-leading warranties, and competitive pricing, while remaining fully independent and family-owned.
In 2008, we opened a second boutique showroom in Meaford, ON, offering the same values: personalized service, expert advice, and quality flooring. Today, Dean’s grandchildren, Sarah and Justin Lougheed, carry on the family tradition with fresh design insights and operational leadership.
